Fahrenheith 451 Journals

Journal prompts for before and after daily reading of Fahrenheit 451. The daily reading is divided into manageable daily reading sections, which if followed, span over 4 weeks. Each pre-reading journal prompt is designed in order to prompt students to begin thinking about important themes and concepts they will encounter in the reading for that day. After the daily reading, students are given a prompt to help them process and analyze what they read and make meaningful connections to the text.

The journals are intended to accompany the text after students have already completed one of the Proceed With Caution units and want to read an additional dystopian novel. For example, if a student starts with Fahrenheit 451, they should complete the entire text set, found here. Then, if students are interested in reading 1984 or Brave New World, we do not recommend purchasing another complete text set, as all assignments other than the journal prompts are the same for each unit. Instead, we recommend simply purchasing the digital download of the journal prompts to accompany the desired text.

Example: If students want to read all three books in the Proceed With Caution units, Fahrenheit 451, 1984, and Brave New World, purchase the text set for the Fahrenheit 451, and then purchase the digital downloads for the journals for 1984 and Brave New World.
